Awesome documentary family photography accounts to follow on Instagram

I've been feeling overwhelmed with Instagram lately – not so much about posting on Instagram, but keeping up with everyone else.Because I follow nearly 400 accounts on my Instagram, I don't have the time or the patience to look at every single image in my feed, let alone read captions. This often leads to me opening up the app, but closing it right away! I need to get more intentional around who I follow, so that I can better engage with the people I do follow.Anyway, as I'm purging accounts from my follow list to make it more manageable, I figured I would share some of my favorite documentary family photography Instagram accounts with you:

Minna Ridderstolpe

Minna is a documentary family photographer based in Stockholm, Sweden. What I love about Minna is that she isn't afraid to get close – real close – to the action.

Heather Whitten

Heather is based in Tampa, Florida, and documents her family's ordinary moments in anything-but-ordinary pictures.

Lawren Rose Photography

Lawren is a Dallas-based documentary photographer who I love to follow because of her amazing birth photography. She captures emotions so well, in addition to getting pictures of all the details that might be overlooked by others during those intimate moments.

Anna-Liisa Nixon

Anna-Liisa is a family documentary photographer based in Westfort, Connecticut. She has a great eye for color and composition – and her pictures really are DEAD FUNNY on top of that.

Ma. Ni. Photo Studio

Lavinia is an Italy-based documentary family photographer. Her black-and-white photography is truly beautiful and highlights the emotions and the action in her photographs.

Documentary Family Photographers

Documentary Family Photographers showcases pictures from a community of hundreds of photographers – there's always something funny, emotional or extraordinary going on in the feed.

Sham of the Perfect

The collective over at Sham of the Perfect showcases the beautiful mess that is family life. They have a solid group of contributing photographers, and they feature tons of photographs from their followers as well.
