San Jose mom's experience about their in-home family session

"We work with photographers all the time and when we look at working with someone new, what makes their work stand apart is their ability to capture a feeling in an image. When we look back at photos of our family, we don't just want a moment in time documented, we want to be able to feel what it was like at that time in our lives.

Jenna has a unique eye for capturing the beautiful chaos of everyday life. We loved her documentary style and her motto "Real is better than perfect."

During the session, I felt at ease. We just went about our routine and Jenna was a calm, positive presence. She connected with the kids and perfectly straddled the line of participant observer.

When I got my pictures, I felt deep joy. I am in love with these images! What a precious thing we have to look at and remember the quotidian, albeit meaningful moments of this time.  I adore the pictures of the girls horsing around with their Dad. I see this scene almost every day, but somehow having a photo of it helps me pause and appreciate the beauty of it.

The whole experience was perfect - from the initial Facetime meeting, to the shoot, to the photos we received - it was smooth and wonderful.  I would recommend Jenna for anyone who wants to document the ordinary, extraordinary moments of their everyday life." - Alexa
