“Just how natural the whole session felt, is one of the big reasons that a lot of [Jenna’s] photos come off feeling very candid and very natural. That’s just how the moment was, there’s nothing artificial about them.” – Paul

What are the sessions like?

Families often describe their session experience as if they had been hanging out with a friend who was taking pictures at the same time. During a documentary session you’ll go about your day as you normally do, while I observe and take pictures without prompts, posing or intervention. I usually interact with everyone during the shoot, because getting familiar with your family helps me make more meaningful pictures.

When you let go and trust the process, the photos will remind you and your kids of a slice of life.

“It was so nice to have photographs in the comfort of our home.  Jenna was the perfect mix of professional and new friend.  She had us go about our regular day (which we were still figuring out!!) and took beautiful photos of moments I didn’t even know would be photo worthy.” – Rachel

Locations and session lengths

I’m based in San Jose, California, and available for in-home, in-hospital, as well as outdoor sessions in San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

Two hour sessions are my shortest option, but I highly recommend 4-12 hours. This might seem long compared to traditional family sessions, but it allows time for everyone to fully relax – and almost forget about the camera. That’s when the moments you don’t want to forget start unfolding in front of the camera.

Do we get digital files?

Yes! All session packages include the digital files. But–because I know first hand how easily files go forgotten or get corrupted on hard drives, all packages also include a photo book (which can be swapped for prints). This way you will be able to see your pictures every day, whether that’s on your coffee table or up on a wall.

Your kiddos should have these memories, regardless of the technology that is relevant when they grow up.

How do we book a session?

Us Finns are not the best sales people, which means that I’m very upfront about my pricing. Before you have to make any decisions, we’ll talk on a video call so that you can ask me questions, and you’ll get a chance to see if I’m someone you’d be comfortable with. Afterwards you can send me a quick note to let me know whether or not you’d love to work with me.

If you decide to book a session, I’ll send you an invoice for a retainer as well as a session agreement. The retainer will be used as a credit towards your session package.

Only buy what you love.

If you do not absolutely love and want your pictures, you are not obligated to purchase anything.

My basic packages are for two hour, four hour, and full day in the life sessions. If you need a different amount of hours, we’ll figure that out. Interest free payment plans are available up to 12 month plans.

As an introvert Finn I’m not the best salesperson, so I’m just going to lay it all out for you here. There are no extra charges, unless you want extra things. All prices are subject to sales tax.
