Last year half of my sessions where with families that I have photographed before, and I cannot put into words how unbelievably happy and humbled that makes me feel.
A bit over three years ago Brooklyn was born, and I’ve gotten to not only see her grow up, but become a big sister.
For Emmeline’s Fresh 48 session, I headed out to the hospital a while before Brooklyn was expected to come meet her. This way we were able to make photographs of just Emmeline and mom, as well as capture how Brooklyn reacted when meeting her new sister.
I do not have any memories of meeting my sister for the first time at the hospital, but I sure am glad that my parents took photographs of it. This is why photographs matter – even when siblings are “old enough to remember”, those memories fade away in the sea of other events.
Document, print, and talk about these memories.
