Hi! I’m Jenna – a documentary newborn and family photographer based in San Francisco Bay Area, but born in Finland.

I photograph families living their everyday lives –– without asking them to pose or say “cheese”.

I’ve recently relocated to Finland with my foot-of-the-bed-occupying Australian shepherd Nova. I primarily photograph in the greater Helsinki area, and occasionally visit Turku as well as San Jose, California.

I speak English, Finnish, and Swedish.

I started out by doing posed sessions –

But within a year I realized that there was a different way to make meaningful memories for you; documentary family photography. Your family's life is filled with moments and connections worth photographing – no family is boring. The longer I stay with you, the more moments worth holding onto happen.

Real is more interesting than perfect.

I’m a silent-ish observer

I tend to pay attention to the things that aren’t being said, and capture the moments you didn’t know to cherish yet. I look past the surface while respecting just how special your life is.

That doesn't mean that I only photograph the quiet moments. Because I worked in daycare and as a child psychologist in my previous life, I have not only seen all the craziness that your kids might get up to – I'll photograph it all.

If you’re looking for a low-key observer who pays attention to the little and big things that make up your family, I’d love to be a fly on your wall.

Let’s talk! Actually – let’s email at first.
