It's time to book your winter baby newborn session

Booking a photographer might be forgotten about once the holidays hit

If you are expecting a baby in the next few months, this is a good time to book your newborn session:

1. Before you've spent your money on all the holiday trinkets and gifts that may be enjoyed only for a short while.

2. Before your mind is occupied with putting together holiday parties, planning menus, and running around town finding presents.

3. Before your baby has been born, and you're too tired to start looking for an available photographer you like.

Photographers can only schedule a limited number of sessions per month.

(Did you know a photographer might spend 15-20 hours total on one client, even if the session is just two hours long?)

Benefits of booking a newborn photographer before baby is born

Researching newborn photographers while you are pregnant means you’ll have more time to compare photographers you like – without the sleep deprivation. Because you get to know your photographer beforehand you will feel comfortable contacting them once your baby has been born.

Booking your photographer early simply means one less thing to worry about once your baby is born. The paperwork has already been taken care of, and you can just focus on your little one.

Your life changes, too

Newborn sessions are not just about the baby – you are going through a huge change in your life and your experience is important to capture, too.

“She helped us capture all the joy, wonder, and exhaustion that is parenthood following the birth of our daughter. I am so happy that we will forever have these pictures to remember the details of that day.” – Megan

A newborn session in winter time seems stressful

You might feel like a newborn session around the holiday season is too stressful to organize for.The awesome thing about documentary sessions is that they are easy for your family. You don’t have to pick up your things and leave the house, you don’t have to clean the house, you don’t have to get dressed up or do anything outside of your ordinary routine. You only have to be you, snuggling up with your loved ones and your brand new baby.

“It’s nice to have photos that are a little slice of life, that you don’t have to work too hard for. Your house is kind of messy, you don’t feel really put together. It doesn’t really matter because the photos turn out so beautiful.” – Jenna G

You'll (most likely) be happy you booked

I know from experience that parents who prioritize photography, and take the time to look for a photographer early, are so happy that they did.

“I was hesitant to have these photos taken … because we are not super comfortable in front of the camera. During the session, I felt comfortable and thankful that these moments were being captured. Now I have them, I know I would regret not having them and it’s my biggest recommendation to other soon to be moms.” – Julie, February Fresh 48 session

It's not too late!

If you realize you want pictures of your newborn when they’ve just been born, don’t give up! Just contact a photographer you like. If they are fully booked they might be able to recommend other photographers in your area that are available.
