Dad-friendly photo sessions

If your partner isn't into the idea of family pictures because they don't feel comfortable dressing up or posing, you are not alone. If you feel sad that you can't get your family put together for a session to make sure that you have pictures of all of you together, you are not alone.I get it, though. The forced smiling, posing, being dressed in something you wouldn't normally wear, worrying about being in the way or not doing things right, and dealing with tantrums in front of a stranger can get fairly overwhelming and uncomfortable.Since I switched over to the documentary photography approach, dads have been much, MUCH, happier being involved in the family pictures. They can fling their kids up in the air, hug their wives, or take a nap – they just get to be dads.

"The best part about the session was that we didn’t have to do anything other than love our son.” - Matt

So – if you’re looking for someone to make a big show during your session while posing and directing, I’m not the photographer for you.

But if you’re looking for a low-key observer who pays attention to the little things that make up your family, I’d love to be invited to hang out with you.
