Dads are not babysitters

Throughout these past few years I've met a lot of different dads, that are equal parts of the parenting team. It rubs me the wrong way a bit, when I hear someone say something along the lines of "John is babysitting the kids tonight" when talking about the father of the kids.

Dads are not babysitters, but they are a ton of other things:

Dads are teachers, storytellers, documenters.

Dads are delegators, mediators, observers.

Dads are clowns, comedians, jokesters.

Dads are newcomers, students, mentors.

Dads are comforters, supporters, cheerleaders.

Dads are adventurers, guides, idols.

Dads are huggers, kissers, snugglers.

Dads are food dispensers, climbing rock walls, amusement parks.

Dads are parents.

Father's Day is coming up, and I'm excited to get more and more dads happy to be in front of the camera over the summer! You can read more about why documentary sessions work well for dads that don't like being in front of the camera.
