Volunteering at Habitat for Humanity Fremont site

A couple weeks back I was volunteering as a photographer at a Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley build site in Fremont. Even though I focused a good chunk of the pictures on the volunteers and the family members working at the site, I felt drawn to make detail pictures.

It is dang liberating to do shoots where I can take more risks and shoot what I feel like, instead of thinking about what kinds of pictures the family will love. But it does train me up to take more creative risks at my newborn and family sessions, too – and I can't wait for my next one.

If you would like to help, you can find more information about Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley here.
