It really happened – if you printed it

Have you ever noticed how much more REAL pictures feel, when you're flipping through a bunch of prints, instead of scrolling through on a screen?

Don't you want to hold onto each one a bit longer?

"Central to the strength of these images is photography’s most precious and unique quality, believability: that the moment preserved on paper is true and unaltered, that it really happened and will never happen again."  — Constantine Manos

I love this quote because it captures documentary family photography so well, as well as the need to print your pictures for them to become real.

Moments captured during documentary sessions might never happen again –or they might be moments that happen every single day that no one simply thinks to take a picture of.

If you have pictures of your extraordinary ordinary moments, make sure you print them so that you have something real to pass on to your kiddo as they get older.

Documentary family photographers can rarely guarantee a specific picture, but we can guarantee treasured memories that can be handed down for generations. One thing is for sure; no one can direct anything as interesting as real life.
