San Francisco Summer Beach Session
It was a hot Thursday in San Jose, so I was excited to escape to the beach in San Francisco with Catherine and her kiddos for some documentary venture pictures. We love visiting San Francisco and spending time on the beach, although there is so much more to do here than just that. You could check out the Golden Gate Bridge and the Golden Gate Park, or head to Pier 39 and try some of the amazing restaurants there like Fog Harbor. There really is something for everyone, but on a day like this the beach is an absolute must - so Catherine, her kiddos and I all grabbed our swimsuits and headed down to the sea.
Catherine was one of the first moms to read my book, and is now working towards starting her own photography business which is so exciting!
"The beach is something we don't do enough. Mainly due to my own worries and fear. But this visit reminded me why the beach is a place that we must visit every summer. I love seeing how free my kids are. How surrounded by water and sand they tap into such imagination and their smiles never cease. It's exciting and overwhelming to be in this stage of life where all my kids are in such different stages of development. My oldest is attached to her phone most days, basketball is my second oldest only language while my 5yo daughter can't stop playing with barbies, then there's Jax who is 2.5 and is truly in his terrific twos... Entertaining them all is hard work! Especially being that summer camps divide them in groups by age and they aren't ready to be without each other. The beach is something we all can do together. It takes the limits off of organized crafts, or museums when someone is telling them what to do, see or feel. The beach challenges them to tap into creativity. To play together. Make up rules. Run freely... Be kids. I won't have many more summers like this... meaning soon my kids will be old enough to want to separate and do their own things without siblings and without me. I also will be back to work, so this time during the summer is important to create these memories both for them.... and me." Catherine
