I'm Not Scared Of The Dark

The fun thing about documentary family and newborn photography is, that finding interesting light is a great challenge that never gets boring!Sometimes a room is evenly lit, or a cloudy day brings soft light throughout a scene – which makes taking pictures easy. But where my heart and interest really lies in finding interesting pockets of light in challenging lighting situations.Light is needed to make a picture, but with the help of shadows the picture will have texture and dimension, as well as accentuate shapes.I'm not scared of shadows and darkness as a big part of the picture, because the contrast can bring energy, emotion, mood, excitement – and make us focus on what is most important in the picture.
