7 Natural Photo Ideas For Baby's First 7 Days
Saying you're tired doesn't even begin to cover it, but you're also curiously exploring the chubby feet, the full head of hair, those sleepily open eyes – and who's ears did they get? You might be so in the moment that you forget that these little and big things fly by incredibly fast! There are a few types of newborn pictures that feel especially important to the families that I've worked with in the past few years – here's a list of picture ideas to help document the first week:
1. Parental exhaustion, bliss, and wonder
This is at the top, because it is SO IMPORTANT to document your journey as a parent, and not to focus on only the baby. Insert your family members (and yourself) in the rest of the must-have photos whenever possible![gallery targetsize="full" captions="hide" bottomspace="none" gutterwidth="20" columns="1" size="full" ids="9329,7463,5135,11951,11193"]
2. Tiny baby feet and toes
They will never be this tiny, this squishy and this mesmerizing again.[gallery targetsize="full" captions="hide" bottomspace="none" gutterwidth="20" columns="1" size="full" ids="7114,11815,7153,7538"]
3. Baby grabbing a finger or hand
Those sweet moments were anyone will instantly feel connected to this new tiny human being.[gallery targetsize="full" captions="hide" bottomspace="none" gutterwidth="20" columns="1" size="full" ids="11209,6578,6090,2164,11201"]
4. Nursing or bottle feeding your baby
Whichever way you feed your baby, it is a significant bonding experience when your heart is in it. Holding your little one while being present with them is all that matters.[gallery targetsize="full" captions="hide" bottomspace="none" gutterwidth="20" columns="1" size="full" ids="7537,7351,1603,7157"]
5. Siblings meeting their newborn brother or sister
Well, you just can't miss those moments. They might be apprehensive, unbelievably excited, curios, or simply overwhelmed with happiness that there's finally another girl in the family.[gallery targetsize="full" captions="hide" bottomspace="none" gutterwidth="20" columns="1" size="full" ids="7540,7131"]
6. Yawns
Let's face it, newborn yawns are the cutest thing on the planet. If I could, I would spread them on a cracker.[gallery targetsize="full" captions="hide" bottomspace="none" gutterwidth="20" columns="1" size="full" ids="5137,7541,10913"]
7. Sleeping baby
Taking a nap the second they fall asleep may be very necessary. But at least once, when the light is great, take a shot! And then nap.[gallery targetsize="full" captions="hide" bottomspace="none" gutterwidth="20" columns="1" size="full" ids="9328,11510,6982,7544,9413,7505"]
