When Norah graduated from the NICU

It was in spring of last year that I first met Miranda and Riccardo. They had plans for a maternity session later that spring, but because of some complications Miranda had to check in at the hospital and stay until Norah was born. That lead to documentary maternity pictures at the hospital.

A few weeks after I had met them, baby girl Norah was born. She had to stay at the hospital for a while, but we planned that I would join them on the day they'd get to go home.

"Our journey was anything but easy. Waiting five years, having preeclampsia, and even now being in the NICU, all have had their own trials but this is our story and it has made me so much more grateful for my husband and for the opportunity to be a mother. To those of you who have children, I hope you know how much of a gift it is and one that not all have; and for those struggling keep your hope and chin up, the plot always twists." - Miranda

I don't often do a “family portait” during my sessions, but for an occasion like this, it seemed important.
